Nintendo has formally denied employing AI-generated imagery in its upcoming release, Mario Kart World, following online speculation triggered by perceived visual imperfections during a livestream. The clarification comes as the gaming giant prepares to launch the title alongside its next-generation Switch 2 console on June 5.

President Shuntaro Furukawa had previously addressed investor concerns about AI’s intersection with intellectual property during a 2023 earnings call. The company’s stance reflects growing industry tensions between generative AI tools and creative ownership in game development.
